Spermidine

Synthetic spermidine trihydrochloride

A small molecule called a polyamine that your cells use to grow and stay healthy.

Evidence
C No memory benefit in the largest trial; most evidence is from animals
Studied for
Cellular renewal (autophagy) and memory

What studies found

In lab and animal studies, spermidine switched on autophagy, the way cells recycle worn-out parts, and was linked to longer lifespan in mice, flies and worms. The largest human trial lasted a year in older adults and found no memory benefit compared with placebo. Studies linking spermidine-rich diets to better health are observational and can't prove cause.

How much is in our products

ProductAmount
Spermidine 12 mg as spermidine trihydrochloride per capsule (1,440 mg is the 120-capsule bottle total)

In studies: 0.9 mg a day from wheat germ for a year in the largest human trial.

Our 12 mg of spermidine salt gives somewhat less actual spermidine (we've asked for the exact amount), but still far more than the 0.9 mg studied.

Who should take care

There isn't enough safety research for pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it's for adults only. Spermidine affects how cells grow, so check with your doctor if you have a health condition or are under a doctor's active care. There's little long-term human data at this amount; upset stomach is possible.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting a supplement if you take any medicine, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a health condition.
