What studies found
One small, industry-funded 90-day trial in men aged 45 to 55 reported higher testosterone levels. That isn't enough to say shilajit does this reliably. Beyond that trial, human research is limited to small studies.
How much is in our products
| Product | Amount |
|---|---|
| Shilajit Gummies | 300 mg of a 10:1 extract (3,000 mg equivalent) per 2-gummy serving |
In studies: 250 mg of a purified extract twice a day for 90 days in men aged 45 to 55.
Our 300 mg of 10:1 extract is less than the 500 mg a day of purified extract used in the one trial.
Who should take care
Raw or poorly processed shilajit can contain heavy metals; one study found lead, mercury or arsenic in about 1 in 5 Ayurvedic products sold online. There isn't enough research for pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the gummies are for adults only. Ask first if you have a hormone-sensitive condition or take any medicines.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting a supplement if you take any medicine, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a health condition.
