- NAD+ is a molecule every cell uses to turn food into energy. Levels fall with age in many tissues.
- Human studies show that some NAD+ precursors, like NR and NMN, can raise NAD+ levels. Whether that improves how people feel or function is still unclear [1].
- Most of the exciting results come from animal studies. We'll keep the two clearly separate.
- Regular aerobic exercise and strength training have the strongest evidence for healthy aging [2].
- Time-restricted eating hasn't beaten regular calorie awareness in the strongest human trials so far [3][4].
NAD+ has become one of the most talked-about molecules in healthy aging. This guide covers what it does, what the human research actually shows (and how much comes from mice), and the habits with the strongest evidence for lasting energy: cardio, strength, sleep and how you eat.
What NAD+ does
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is found in every cell in your body. It has two big jobs:
- Energy. It helps your mitochondria, the "power plants" in your cells, turn food into usable energy.
- Maintenance. It's used by enzymes involved in repairing DNA and other cell upkeep.
Your body makes NAD+ from vitamin B3 (niacin) and related compounds in food. In many tissues, NAD+ levels drop as we age. In animal studies, raising NAD+ improved several markers of aging. In people, the picture is less clear [1].
Human vs animal evidence, at a glance:
| What we know | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| NAD+ levels fall with age in many tissues | Human and animal studies |
| NR and NMN can raise NAD+ levels in blood and some tissues | Human trials [1] |
| Raising NAD+ improves physical function or health | Mostly animal studies; human results unclear [1] |
| Raising NAD+ extends lifespan | Animal studies only |
Your routine at a glance
| Pillar | What it means this week |
|---|---|
| Eat | Protein at every meal. Mostly whole, minimally processed foods. |
| Move | Three 30-minute "Zone 2" cardio sessions and two strength sessions. |
| Rest & reset | A consistent sleep window of 7 to 9 hours. |
| Supplement | If you choose Liposomal NAD+, take 2 capsules daily with meals.* |

Eat
The foundation
The current Dietary Guidelines put protein at every meal (about 1.2 to 1.6 g per kg of body weight a day), whole and minimally processed foods, and low added sugar [5]. Protein matters more as you age, because it helps you keep muscle.
Foods that supply vitamin B3 (the raw material for NAD+): chicken, turkey, tuna, salmon, peanuts, mushrooms, brown rice, and fortified cereals.
What about time-restricted eating?
Eating within an 8- to 10-hour window is popular in longevity circles. Here's what the strongest human trials found:
- In a 12-week trial, people eating within an 8-hour window lost only a little weight, and not significantly more than the control group [3].
- In a 12-month trial, eating in an 8-hour window plus cutting calories worked about the same as cutting calories alone [4].
Bottom line: an eating window can be a helpful way to structure your day if you like it. It isn't magic. What you eat and how much matter more.
Smart swaps
| Instead of | Try | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A bagel and coffee | Greek yogurt, berries and walnuts | Protein for muscle, fiber for fullness |
| A protein bar on the go | Two hard-boiled eggs and fruit | Less processed |
| Takeout pasta | Salmon, quinoa and roasted vegetables | Protein, fiber and omega-3s |
| A nightcap | Herbal tea | Alcohol disrupts sleep |
A sample day
- Breakfast: Three-egg omelet with mushrooms and spinach, whole-grain toast.
- Lunch: Big salad with chicken or chickpeas, quinoa, olive oil and lemon.
- Snack: Cottage cheese with berries, or edamame.
- Dinner: Salmon or tofu, brown rice and roasted broccoli.
Three easy recipes
1. Mushroom and spinach omelet (vegetarian)
- 3 eggs, 1 cup sliced mushrooms, 1 cup spinach, a little olive oil, salt and pepper.

- Stir-fry the protein, add the vegetables, then stir in a sauce of peanut butter, soy sauce, lime and a splash of water.
Grocery list
- Produce: mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, mixed vegetables, cucumber, avocado, berries, lemons, limes, garlic, ginger.
- Protein: eggs, salmon, chicken or tofu, chickpeas, edamame, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese.
- Grains: brown rice, quinoa, whole-grain bread.
- Pantry: peanut butter, walnuts, olive oil, soy sauce, sesame seeds, herbal tea.
Move
Exercise is one of the most-studied "longevity interventions" we have. The Physical Activity Guidelines suggest 150 to 300 minutes of moderate aerobic activity a week, plus muscle-strengthening on two or more days [2].
Zone 2 cardio means steady activity where you can still talk in full sentences but not sing. Think brisk walking, easy cycling or a light jog.
Strength training helps you keep muscle and bone as you age.
Always: warm up for 5 to 10 minutes and cool down for 5 minutes. Stop and talk to a doctor if you have chest pain, unusual shortness of breath, dizziness or a racing heart.
4-week starter plan
| Week | Beginner | Building | Strong |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Zone 2: 20 min × 3 + strength × 1 | Zone 2: 30 min × 3 + strength × 2 | Zone 2: 45 min × 3 + strength × 2 + 1 interval session |
| 2 | Zone 2: 25 min × 3 + strength × 2 | Zone 2: 35 min × 3 + strength × 2 | Same, with one longer Zone 2 session (60 min) |
| 3 | Zone 2: 30 min × 3 + strength × 2 | Zone 2: 40 min × 3 + strength × 2 | Intervals: 4 × 4 minutes hard, 3 minutes easy |
| 4 | Zone 2: 30 min × 4 + strength × 2 | Add 1 interval session | Keep it up; test a 5K walk or run time |
Strength session (2 to 4 rounds): 10 goblet squats (or bodyweight squats), 10 push-ups, 10 dumbbell rows each arm (or backpack rows), 10 hip hinges (Romanian deadlifts), a 30-second plank.
Progress rule: add time, reps or weight a little each week, only when your current week feels manageable.
Moves to know
- Goblet squat. Hold a weight at your chest, sit down between your heels, then stand. Mistake: knees caving in. Easier: squat to a chair. Harder: heavier weight or slower lowering.
- Romanian deadlift. Hold weights in front of your thighs, push your hips back with a flat back, then stand tall. Mistake: rounding your back. Easier: lighter weight. Harder: one leg.
- One-arm row. One hand on a bench, pull a dumbbell toward your hip. Mistake: twisting your torso. Easier: lighter weight. Harder: pause at the top.
Rest & reset
- Sleep 7 to 9 hours [6], in a consistent window.
- Stop caffeine 6+ hours before bed. Caffeine 6 hours before bed cut sleep by over an hour in one study [7].
- Go easy on alcohol, especially close to bedtime.
- Get daylight in the morning to anchor your body clock.
- Schedule a recovery day. Gains come from training plus rest.

What's inside, and what the research says
Research on an ingredient isn't research on our product.
| Ingredient | Our amount | What studies used | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| NAD+ (liposomal) | 500 mg | Most human trials used NAD+ precursors (NR or NMN), not NAD+ itself [1] | C: precursors can raise NAD+ levels; health effects in people are unclear [1]. Studies of swallowed NAD+ itself are still under way [8] |
| Trans-resveratrol | 50 mg | — | C: limited human research for this use |
| Sunflower lecithin | Not stated | — | Used to form the liposomes |
Evidence grades: A strong · B moderate · C limited or early · T traditional use or expert advice.
The honest summary: NAD+ is a real and important molecule, and research on raising it is exciting. But most of the strong results are in animals, and human trials have mostly used precursors, not NAD+ itself. We don't want to promise more than the science shows.
Good to know: Liposomal NAD+ is vegan and caffeine-free.
Your 12-week roadmap

Myths vs facts
- Myth: NAD+ supplements reverse aging. Fact: That claim comes from animal studies. Human results are still unclear [1].
- Myth: Mouse results apply directly to people. Fact: Mice aren't small humans. That's why we label animal research clearly.
- Myth: Time-restricted eating is the key to longevity. Fact: In human trials, it worked about the same as calorie awareness alone [3][4].
- Myth: Cardio is enough. Fact: Strength training two days a week is part of the guidelines for a reason [2].
- Myth: You can supplement your way out of poor sleep. Fact: Sleep is one of the biggest levers you have.
Safety first
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Liposomal NAD+ if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding. There isn't enough safety research.
- Are under 18. This product is for adults.
- Take blood thinners or have surgery coming up. Resveratrol may affect blood clotting.
- Take any prescription medicines, or have a known health condition.
NAD+ precursors were safe and well tolerated in human studies [1], but long-term data are limited.
Possible side effects: upset stomach, nausea or headache.
When to see a doctor
Lower energy can come with age, but it isn't something to ignore. See a doctor if you have:
- Tiredness that's new, gets worse, or doesn't improve with rest.
- Shortness of breath or chest discomfort with activity.
- Weight loss you can't explain.
- Changes in mood, memory or sleep that worry you.
Regular checkups and age-appropriate screenings are some of the most useful tools for healthy aging.
